The Skrugg are an alien lifeform hellbent on destroying the planet. Together Joey and Heroman, with the constant support of their friends, are tasked with defending the world from the Skrugg. Well, he comes into a great power when his self-repaired Heybo is struck by lightening, turning it into a giant robot with the American flag running down its side. He gets picked on and bullied and considers himself to be very weak. Joey, our hero, is a young boy living in the USA. In fact, it lines up with most shounen anime. On Jtwo Disney XD show promos surfaced due to Ryujin Mabuyer and Lost Media Wiki user Echofox.Heroman's story really isn't anything never before seen. However, an Hindi-language version of the show began broadcast on Asian Disney XD channels in 2012.The Malaysian affiliate previously hosted four clips of the dub on their Youtube channel, but made all of their videos private after switching to an all-encompassing Disney XD Asia profile. A local posted on the AnimeIndia forums saying he heard Muriel Hoffman in the dub, indicating it was recorded in Hong Kong and had no relation to the earlier pilot. To date, there have been no English home video releases and no clips have since surfaced online. Due to Heroman's failure in Japan and the time since its debut, it's also unlikely Disney will ever have a change of heart about its western potential. The pilot was screened at Anime Expo 2010, but has never been seen since. As Disney invested in the production of the show, it's unlikely any other entity could license it out. An English language pilot was produced by Wowmax Media for this attempt in Los Angeles, USA. Sam Pinansky, who officially translated the series for Crunchyroll, claims that prior to Japanese broadcast, animation giant Disney signed on to broadcast the show internationally, but that they pulled out last minute. The series ran for 26 episodes between April and September 2010 on TV Tokyo. The series is about an American boy named Joey who accidentally becomes Earth's only defense from an alien invasion. ![]() Heroman is an anime series produced by American comic book legend Stan Lee, Japanese illustrator Tamon Ohta and animation studio Bones.
